The function of a template is to facilitate your writing. Because it already has specific styles, you will not have to spend time on making the text look a certain way. The template contains the settings needed to design a document, e.g. margin width, pagination in footers, styles for different parts of the text etc. The SLU University Library provides document templates to enable a consistent format for SLU publications.
